Pakistan pulses import went up to $287.829 million in July-Dec 2018-19, lower 7 percent down, official figures say. Increase in pulses import now comes to the tune of $17.926 million in July-Dec 2018-19 from $269.903 million in July-Dec 2017-18, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics shows. In term of quantity, pulses import scaled up by 42.35 percent or 144, 167 metric tons to 484,611 metric tons in July-Dec 2018-19 from 340, 444 metric tons in July-Dec 2017-18.

In Dec 2018, the country's import of pulses however slumped by 28.25 percent or $15.707 million to $39.894 million from $55.601 million in Dec 2017. Pulses import volume plunged by 42.48 percent or 39,967 metric tons to 54,127 metric tons in Dec 2018 from 94,094 metric tons in Dec 2017.
